On June 28 – July 3, 2026, our team attended the 2026 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT 2026) in Guangzhou — the first ISIT held in mainland China in the conference’s 75-year history. PhD graduate Mo Li and master’s graduate Zhuogi Tu presented two papers:
- Leaderless Synchronous BFT under an Information-theoretic Setting (Mo Li, Ximing Fu, Shenghao Yang) — a leaderless consensus model with information-theoretic security that does not rely on cryptographic signatures, introducing an “order-k leaderless consensus information” metric and protocols that achieve it.
- Linear Network Coding for Sum All-Reduce over Ring Networks (Zhuogi Tu, Yi Chen, Shenghao Yang) — a linear-network-coding framework for sum All-Reduce, proving an achievable rate upper bound of 3/4 on 3-node ring networks.
